It doesn't matter where you're from or what your background is. Every child carries something unique inside them — Youth Can exists to help that light shine.
Youth Can began as a safe space for young people navigating the unfamiliar — new cities, new languages, and new ways of belonging. Today, we welcome youth and families from all backgrounds, at every stage of their journey. We believe real growth happens through human connection — by showing up, listening, and belonging to something bigger than yourself. We don't just help youth adapt. We help them grow into people their communities are proud of.
Youth Can is more than a program — it's a promise. Through mentorship, real-world experiences, and meaningful relationships, we help young people build confidence, find direction, and create a lasting sense of belonging. We measure success in moments that matter — when a voice is found, a family feels at home, and a young person begins to believe in themselves. As a registered non-profit under the BC Societies Act, Youth Can is built on trust and a genuine commitment to the communities we serve.
Every child has something they are naturally good at. Something that lights them up from the inside. But too often, young people are pushed down a single road — without the space to discover what truly fits them.
Youth Can was founded on a simple belief: that every young person deserves the chance to explore, to try, and to find their own direction — not the one chosen for them, but the one that comes from their own heart.
Our five pathways — Sports, Leadership, Arts, Create, and Entrepreneur — help youth explore, experience, and connect with the future. Each pathway builds confidence, creativity, and purpose — empowering young people to grow, lead, and shape what comes next.

Five directions. One for every young person. Come as you are — grow into who you're meant to be.
🏅 Every pillar offers a scholarship to recognize every young person who dares to shine.
Here, young people build real athletic confidence — learning to push their limits, trust their teammates, and carry themselves with pride both on and off the field. Sport becomes a language everyone speaks.
Every young person has a voice. In this pillar, they learn to use it — developing the confidence to speak up, the skills to inspire others, and the wisdom to lead with empathy and purpose.
Young people discover that their heritage is not a barrier — it is their greatest creative asset. Through art, they find pride in where they come from and the courage to share that story with the world.
In a world flooded with content, young people learn to be intentional creators — telling stories that matter, building an authentic voice, and understanding the power and responsibility that comes with being heard. Includes Youth Talk, our signature interview series.
Young people learn that their ideas have value — and that building something real takes curiosity, resilience, and the willingness to start before you're ready. They leave with more than skills; they leave with belief in themselves.
All events welcome young people and families from every background.
